We have been watching the construction of a new lift and piste in the Lindarets / Mossettes area of Avoriaz over the summer. The lift will replace the old 3 seater chair “Brochaux”. The new lift will be a 6 person “clutched” type, capable of transporting 3000 skiers / hour.
A new blue run will open in December, and has been given an English language name. The Avoriaz tourist office ran a naming competition, and decided upon “Blue Velvet”: the name of an 80s David Lynch film. The lucky (British) competition winner has been awarded one week’s ski pass as a prize.
