New lifts for 2014/15 season complete link between Avoriaz and Chatel

New Direct Link from Linga to Super Chatel

New for the 2014/15 winter season will be the direct ski link between Avoriaz and Super Chatel, following the construction of two new chairlifts at the Lac de Vonnes in the Portes Du Soleil. The two new lifts currently under construction at a cost of €8m are:

  1. New chairflift “PORTES DU SOLEIL”  from Vonnes to Super-Châtel. Make: Poma. Type: 6 seater “clutched”. Length: 1405m. Capacity: 2200 skiers/ hour.
  2. New chairlift “GABELOU” from Vonnes to Linga. Make: Poma. Type: 4 seater “clutched”. Length: 958m. Capacity: 1800 skiers / hour.*

This development will open up the Super Chatel and Morgins ski areas to our guests in Chalet Jordan. The easiest route into the Portes Du Soleil from Chalet Jordan is the Ardent telecabine, which takes skiers directly into the Lindarets ski area. From there, the Chaux Fleurie lift gives direct access into the Linga area, which is now linked directly to Super Chatel using these two new lifts.

This is also great news for those who like to ski the full circuit of the Portes Du Soleil. This challenging full day ski always involved a tedious bus transfer between Linga and Super Chatel. However, the bus can now be avoided by using this new ski link.
